The HERMES project participated in the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework conference!

On the 20th and 21st of September 2023, the HERMES project was represented at the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF), a 2-day conference on “Cybersecurity Skills – Building a Cybersecurity Workforce”. The conference was hosted by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) and took place in Athens, Greece.

The conference aimed at highlighting how ENISA can sustain the effort to build a cybersecurity workforce, through the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework and its application. In addition, national, European and international stakeholders had the opportunity to meet and share best practices in building a cybersecurity workforce, in order to tackle current and future cybersecurity threats.

Addressing the problem of cybersecurity workforce shortage and skills gap, ENISA identified Europe’s need for a comprehensive approach that define a set of roles and skills relevant to the cybersecurity field and worked on the development of the European Cybersecurity Skills Framework (ECSF), thus making an essential next step towards Europe’s digital future. HERMES also seeks to improve the shortage of cybersecurity skills in Europe. In particular, HERMES will contribute towards the employment of new cybersecurity specialists by providing relevant training material thus enriching their cybersecurity skills.
